Totally Rocking The ’80s!

I know that most of you read the Chart Attack! postings with a sense of relief – relief that you no longer have to endure many of these songs on the radio.

I’m a bit different.  Because I was young, highly impressionable, and addicted to radio in the ’80s, I love this stuff.  Even the awful songs, to an extent.  They’re guilty pleasures.

And that’s why you totally need to come see Mike and I rock the shit out of ’80s songs, acoustic-duo style, this Saturday at Waltz.

You can find all information on the show on my performance page.

First one to guess what ’80s album cover is represented on this invite gets in free!  (This should be an easy one for you guys.)

If we know the album, but can’t make the show, what do we get? :>) Are you guys taking requests? Cuz Track 2 on this album is very cool … perhaps you can work it into your set list at your next local 80s acoustic performance … hmm? Hope you have a great show and a huge turnout!

Jane, I have to admit that I hadn’t heard "Looking For A Good Sign" before.  I’ve heard it now, though, and it’s a very good song.  I’d love to play it.  For the time being, though, we’re sticking to the really well-known songs as we’re still building an audience.

The problem with playing their songs, though, is that the chords are quite tricky, and most of them have to be transcribed by ear because I can’t seem to find any sheet music books for them…

  3. Velma Says:

I actually have a book of sheet music of theirs; if you’d like to borrow it, send an email to me, and I’ll mail it to you with a SASE, so that you can send it back when you’re done.(Yes, I’m crazy like that, and yes, you provide me great delight with your blog.)

Velma, to quote the great Hall & Oates (and Sara Allen), you make my dreams come true.

Ha!  I had no clue.  To be fair, I wanted to recreate the cover from H2O, but Mike wasn’t into it.  :)

Thank you for the great show on Saturday! It was totally worth the schlep from Brooklyn to Astoria. I look forward to the next one. (With some Hall & Oates, perhaps?)

Dude, after you brought the book, how can they not?
Don’t worry, I’ll work on ’em if they’re not already excited. Heh!
