I just came across your site today from Mamapop -- awesome, awesome, awesome. Didn't Dave Mason do another relatively popular song that had this chorus: "But there's something about you, baby/that makes me keep lovin' you/there's something about you baby/that makes me love you just a little bit more/truly!"Can't think of the name, but I think it hit in the '80s. Help a sister out?

This chick I used to work with once said she 'loved that Kajagoogoo song.' Then she commenced to singing, "Yourrrrr're too, shy-to-be-shy, hush hush. Eye to eye. Yourrrrrrrr're.." Right in front of everybody.

"I played that Orleans song in my car once and my friend Rob asked if I was gay." That made me laugh.

D.H.T.'s cover of "I Go Crazy" is pretty good. The singer has some chops.

On a side note in regard to commonly misworded song titles, I hated it in high school when people would say one of their favorite movies was "Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail." If it's your favorite movie, how come you don't know it's called "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"?

Great Mellow (Ball-less) Gold! We still play Orleans at the stations I work for, and even though I cringe when I hear it, toward the end of the song, there's some interesting drumming that doesn't suck. Oh, and I love "Teenage Wasteland" by The Guess Who. ;-)

In the early 80s, John's next project, The John Hall Band, had a minor hit called "Crazy (Keep On Falling)" that was in fairly heavy rotation on MTV. It's far less wussy than "Dance With Me", has a great bridge, and is such a guilty pleasure that 25 years later I still have it on tape somewhere.

Exactly. Not all wimp rock is synth-based. In fact, what is more sincere and earnest (read: wuss) than an acoustic guitar??
