True confession: I was considering doing an impromptu Chart right here in the comments, just to take the edge off the readers who were jonesing for a fix of snark. Which chart? Why, this week’s of course. Then I read who’s on it. Nickelback? Nickelback wannabe Daughtry? Matchbox friggin’ Twenty featuring Rob "Smegma" Thomas? What in the world could I say about Gwen Stefani’s "The Sweet Escape" other than I hate that whole "fell on the floor / re-frig-er-ay-tor" line, the way that Interscope and pop radio has been shoving this song down my throat for the past three months and that stupid "woo-hoo, yee-hoo" hook? Crap. These jerks make all of Mellow Gold look like batter-dipped geniuses.
